Julie believes there’s a story behind every name waiting to be told. A story that needs to be told.
Her fascination with names began early. At four years old, she won the family contest to name their new kitten—choosing Strawberry because strawberries were her favorite food. It was an act of love, and in hindsight, the first clue that names truly matter.
A voracious reader, relentless researcher, and unapologetic name-nerd, Julie has spent more than a decade exploring the linguistic origins, histories, and symbolism behind thousands of names across cultures, geographies, and centuries.
She created Name Stories® in 2018—the original name print—essentially inventing a new category of art that celebrates the hidden beauty of names, transforming them into meaningful works of art.
Each piece is a carefully curated blend of manual research and storytelling—crafted with an uncommon level of care, positivity and passion (and more than a little love).
Julie holds a BA in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley and has pursued continuing studies at Stanford University.
When she’s not researching names, you’ll likely find her on the golf course—spoiling a perfectly good walk.
